Victorian Building Interim Regulations 2017

*** PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE REGULATIONS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH THE BUILDING REGULATIONS 2018 ON 2 JUNE 2018 ***

The Building Interim Regulations 2017 replaced the Building Regulations 2006. Minor amendments were made to update references to legislation, planning schemes, the NCC, and Australian Standards.

Victorian Building Interim Regulations 2017 coverThe Regulations have many objectives, including prescribing standards for construction, safety for public events, maintenance of fire safety, qualifications of practitioners and mirrors content from the Premises Standards in Regulation 116.

Regulation 116 adopts some requirements from the Premises Standards at State level, including:

  • The ‘new part’ and ‘affected part’;
  • Available concessions for existing accessible toilets and lifts; and
  • Lessee concessions in multi-tenanted buildings.
